Bespoke Handmade Kitchens
Some people have a very clearly worked out idea of what they want when they approach us, others have really no clear vision at all apart from wanting a change, with most people being somewhere between these positions. Our job is to try to deliver bespoke handmade kitchens to our clients’ needs, with how ever much discussion is required to pin-point what those needs may be.
Planning the Right Design for You
For most of us the kitchen is the heart of the home, so it’s very important to get it right when planning and designing the space. In working out what you want from your new kitchen, a good starting point is to think about how you use your current one – which parts you like and which parts frustrate you. We can help with some of the basics – like pointing out if a suggested layout will not provide a compact working area. However these general rules will only get you so far, and people vary greatly in how they use their kitchens, so a bespoke approach is best.
Some clients want a neat one-person working layout for the main cooking, and maybe a distinct area where children can get their own breakfasts, while in other families both partners and some of the children will participate in preparing meals all together. No designer will know better than you do how your kitchen will work, so the more you think through questions of layout, storage and so on, the better. This is often best accomplished by bouncing ideas off an experienced designer. At Wood Works of Westerham, not only will we encourage you to look at friends’ kitchens, and to browse magazines and websites to get a clearer picture of the styles you like, we will chat through the practicalities of your ideas to find the right solution for you.
