Mixed material kitchens offer a hybrid solution to your kitchen space. Many people really like the idea of a painted kitchen, but also want to retain some wood in the room. Sometimes it is really nice to use a mix of materials, with wall and base cupboards in a painted finish and an island or breakfast bar in a solid wood. Another way of doing this is by mixing up the worktops.
Granite is nearly always the most popular choice for a kitchen worktop, but sometimes people choose to have a wooden worktop in one particular area of the kitchen so they have a partial wooden kitchen look. This can bring back that slightly more traditional feel to the room and can also give you more flexibility over how you change the space in the future, should you wish to add a splash of colour.
If you have an idea of the materials you’d like for your new kitchen, you can discuss these with one of our kitchen designers, who will discuss the best options for you, based on functionality, design and space.
